SYNOPSIS:

Set against the rugged peaks of the Spanish Pyrenees in 1943, this gripping WWII drama—based on true events—follows Manel Grau, a principled Spanish customs officer haunted by his Republican past. When Franco’s regime seals the border to Jews fleeing Nazi-occupied France, Grau faces a life-altering decision: to defy his superiors and risk everything to save those desperate for freedom. With the quiet courage of a determined villager and a daring French smuggler, Grau embarks on a perilous mission that threatens not only his own life but also the safety of his wife and their community. Their clandestine crusade to shepherd refugees across treacherous mountain passes reopens old wounds from the Spanish Civil War—turning personal scars into a powerful act of resistance. Tense, heartfelt, and beautifully human, this story illuminates a forgotten chapter of history where ordinary people chose bravery over silence.
