
SYNOPSIS:
All I Had Was Nothingness is a reflection on Claude Lanzmann’s landmark Holocaust documentary Shoah, on its 40th anniversary. Revealing the untold story behind Shoah’s making, using previously unseen footage from the masterpiece, and Lanzmann’s own voice, the film examines the process of giving voice to Holocaust memory. What emerges is an intimate portrait of a filmmaker and a meditation on the ethics of representation.
