September 2024: THE BOY by Yahav Winner, who was murdered in the October 7th Hamas attack while protecting his wife and baby daughter, won Best Short Film at this weekend’s Ophir Awards (the Israeli Academy Awards). His wife, filmmaker Shaylee Atary, accepted the award on his behalf. Shaylee will join us in Hong Kong this November, where she’ll screen her own film, Single Light, at our Festival. THE BOY was screened at last year’s HKJFF.

Audience award winners have been announced for the 2023 Hong Kong Jewish Film Festival. March ’68 received the highest votees for Best Feature Film, while Vishniac won the award for Best Documentary . .
