SYNOPSIS:
Tatami is an emotionally charged drama that explores the human cost of political agendas. When Iranian judoka Leila travels to the World Championships aiming to make history, she’s ordered by her government to withdraw rather than risk facing an Israeli opponent. Caught between duty, fear, and personal conviction, Leila’s decision threatens her freedom, her family’s safety, and her bond with her coach. Co-directed by Iranian and Israeli filmmakers, and shot in stark black and white, Tatami examines the weight of resistance and the quiet courage of those who refuse to comply.
